LGS 1987 is a specialist podcast. LGS or Lost Gay Sydney is a group on FaceBook that celebrates a generation of clubbing from the 70′s, 80′s and 90′s and maps the development of the gay scene, in particular, from the start of Mardi Gras which was launched as a violent protest in 1978. LGS: The Soundtrack To Our Lives is one of a series of podcasts planned covering the years I DJ’d in Sydney before coming to London and hence contributing to these golden lost years.

I began DJing roughly in 1987 which is why the first of these mixes is called LGS 1987. On it I have mixed 20 tunes that were in my ‘box’ at the time. It is a real walk down, or should I sat boogie, down memory lane.

In those days music had variety, and several genres would quite happily sit side by side. From Jacking house to the sound of Stock, Aitken & Waterman and from Acid House to hip-hop inspired tunes.
